Thalia Matthaei
about
My Name is Thalia. I was born in 1991 in the Black Forest, South of Germany.
I have always been passionate about working with people in different ways & creating a safe space.
In 2016 I settled in Berlin. In between traveling the world whenever I can, I facilitate and co-create workshops in dance, embodiment and body positivity/empowerment.
When I reflect on somatic body work and its setting, I’m drawn to my first encounter. It wasn’t through receiving a session from someone else, but rather as an organic personal experience.
I was walking in the Himalayas in Nepal.
Feeling the physical movement, my breath & being with nature in a safe surrounding, I started to go through different processes.
Allowing myself to move into my body and to feel what wants to be felt. Trusting the wisdom of my body and allowing it to show me what needs to be seen. Such a beautiful & wholesome experience with myself - coming back home to my body.
